Modern Slavery Statement
Voluntary statement issued in the spirit of transparency and ethical business practice.
Our Business
Built World Tech Talent is a sole trader recruitment business registered in Portugal under CAE 78100 (Recruitment and Placement Services), operated by Jonas Gomes. We provide specialist permanent recruitment services to companies in the PropTech, ConTech and Smart Buildings sectors across EMEA, APAC and North America.
As a one-person firm, our supply chain is limited. We do not employ staff, engage subcontractors or procure physical goods. Our business activity consists of professional recruitment services delivered directly by the founder.
Our Commitment
Built World Tech Talent has a zero-tolerance position on modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking and all related forms of exploitation. We are committed to ensuring that these practices play no part in our business or in the businesses of those we work with.
Modern slavery takes many forms, including forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable people. We take seriously our responsibility to identify and prevent any such practices, however limited our exposure to these risks may be given the nature and scale of our operations.
Our Practices
In conducting our recruitment operations, we:
Only introduce candidates to client organisations on a fully informed and consensual basis.
Do not charge candidates any fees for our services.
Conduct business exclusively with established, reputable companies operating in regulated markets.
Take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that our clients operate ethical employment practices.
Comply with all applicable employment and data protection law in the jurisdictions we operate in.
Due Diligence
Given the nature of our business, placing professionals into technology companies, our risk exposure to modern slavery is considered low. The candidates we work with are skilled professionals operating in high-value sectors, and our clients are typically venture-backed or established technology companies subject to their own legal and governance obligations.
We nonetheless remain vigilant and would take immediate action if any concern regarding modern slavery or exploitation were identified in connection with our operations or relationships.
Reporting Concerns
Anyone who has concerns about modern slavery in connection with Built World Tech Talent or any organisation we work with is encouraged to contact us directly at jonas@builtworldtechtalent.com.
Concerns may also be reported to the relevant national authority. In the United Kingdom, the Modern Slavery Helpline can be reached at 0800 0121 700.
Review
This statement is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect any changes in our operations or the broader risk environment.
